NW 611 weekend 04/16
We really enjoyed the weekend, rail fanning with the NW611 as we chased it from Spencer, NC to Danville, Va. on Saturday morning and to Ashville , NC Sunday morning.
She was heading north bound to through Lexington, NC in this photo, we meet some nice rail fans and we had an actual NS Engineer on site with a radio to keeps informed on what was going on.
This was at Barber junction, I was wanting to catch the sun shine on the side of the train and with the steam on a cold morning, well, it made a great picture with the steam.
Well, may have been on the wrong side of the track to leave out fast in the chase but with the light it was a good clear picture.
This was near the loop coming off the mountain at a one way bridge.
And we have to mention 611 diesel helpers, a Southern heritage unit and a Southern F unit, which I thought was alright to do, but many rail fans thought 611 could do the trip by herself.
Many, many rail fans at the loop and of course, my son was right in the middle of it all.
Well, just another great weekend with our Family and many Rail fans, God Bless America !!
