NGM at NS 2017 part 3

NGM at Norfolk Southern 2017

NGM at the Norfolk Southern building, (Goode bldg.) downtown Atlanta was another great week for our club.  We had a little weather delay, one day, but we had the layout up in their grand lobby for eight days.

Truly the club members had a mind to work.  Just a great week of train operations.

Well, put this one in the books, NGM at NS 2017 !!

Thanks Caleb Samples for all your work coordinating the exhibit .

NW611 April 2017

Hello again Rail Fans, we went on another train excursion  on the NW 611 in April 2017.

My son's childhood favor model.  That's all we heard about until we bought this model NW611 model train in December 2006 for his Christmas.

It's become a family hobby of Rail Fanning, especially steam trains.  It just puts a smile on our faces.

We enjoyed a very comfortable seating, even though we were on the next to last passenger car, the comfort was worth the ride from Spencer, NC to Lynchburg, Va. and back.

Great time, great fun with the family, Rail Fanning!!  We'll see you next time. :-)

NGM club meeting information

Hello NGM Club members,

The club made a decision to meet at Southeastern Railway Museum every other month, on every fourth Thursday , then rotate odd and even months at BBQ restaurants, odd months at Greater Good BBQ in Stone Mountain, Ga. and even months at Dreamland BBQ in Roswell, Ga.

Our next Monthly club meeting will be at our next club event at Buford Presbyterian Church Gym, on Thursday 25th meeting night.

(If you have any questions, please let me know)

This is a change from the old way, but it adds to our partnership with the museum.

Another Rail Fan spot in Powder Springs Ga. March 2017

Hello Rail Fans,

Here's another good Rail Fan hot spot in Powder Springs, Ga. A single main line on the Georgia Division. We saw train traveling East and West bound as it is near the piggyback yard.

This would be at Power Springs Park and ball fields on Brownsville road. Here you see a BASF coal train heading west bound.
Another good rail fan spot, that day, Saturday we saw seven trains go by from 9am to 12pm.

See you next time,
Dan
