October 2016 train case 4501

Hello Rail Fans,

Here are some pictures from our October 2016 4501 train chase. 4501 trip from TVRM in Chattanooga to Summerville, Georgia.

We started at TVRM in Chattanooga as the passengers loaded the train cars.

She was a beauty as there is just something special about a steam train.

We found ourselves on Holtzclaw avenue where 4501 will follow the street for a little while then cross over the street, always a great sight.

Notice the actual sign.

 

We found this sweet spot behind some old buildings which added to the setting.

4501 had to wait here while two freight trains came in and out of  Debutt's yard. By the way a two trains where NS and BNSF.

Then a NS mile long freight train.

NGM at SRM Nov. 2016

Hello Model Railroad fan,

Our model train club, North Georgia Modurail next layout event will be at Southeastern Railway Museum in Duluth, Ga. Nov. 5th - 6th, for the museum's Model Railroad Days.

Also, as a bonus, the layout will remain up until Saturday Nov. 14th. with access in the exhibit hall  museum's hours (10am - 5pm)

NGM at Smoke Rise Church 2016

Greetings Railroad fans and blog followers,

The end of July brings one of our clubs biggest event, The Smoke Rise Church event which involves THREE model railroad clubs.  Basketball court size layout.

 Our layout setup will be July 29th Friday 3:00pm and the layout will be completed for some train operation time, then SATURDAY July 30th 10am - 4pm more operation time with your trains, then Sunday 12:00pm to 3pm and layout tear down.

Fun for ALL ages and all rail fans.

It is time for us to publicize that an NGM layout will be on display at the Southeastern Railroad Museum.  Here are the particulars:

Setup will be at 4:00PM on Saturday, June 11th.

Take down will be at 9:30 AM on Saturday June 18th.  A club work session will also be conducted that day.

Operation for public display will be will be 10 AM to 5 PM on the following days:

• Saturday, June 11
• Sunday, June 12
• Tuesday, June 14
• Wednesday, June 15
• Thursday, June 16
• Friday, June 17.

June 11 and 12 are a museum special event:  Locomotive Celebration.

The museum is closed on Monday, June 13.

NGM at SRM June 2016

Hello ALL,

Well, Southeastern Railway Museum (SRM) called and our Club (NGM) will respond, we looking forward to "Locomotive Celebration" weekend at SRM  June 11 -12. 

The museum will be closed Monday 13th and the layout will remain up the rest of the week until Saturday 18th, which will be club work day and layout take down.

We will operate museum hours, unless some members want to stay late, if so, please let us know.

I would like to request a little play time Saturday before work and tear down. If not I understand.

I hope to see you all Saturday / Sunday and or sometime next week.
