NW 611 weekend 04/16
We really enjoyed the weekend, rail fanning with the NW611 as we chased it from Spencer, NC to Danville, Va. on Saturday morning and to Ashville , NC Sunday morning.
She was heading north bound to through Lexington, NC in this photo, we meet some nice rail fans and we had an actual NS Engineer on site with a radio to keeps informed on what was going on.
This was at Barber junction, I was wanting to catch the sun shine on the side of the train and with the steam on a cold morning, well, it made a great picture with the steam.
Well, may have been on the wrong side of the track to leave out fast in the chase but with the light it was a good clear picture.
This was near the loop coming off the mountain at a one way bridge.
And we have to mention 611 diesel helpers, a Southern heritage unit and a Southern F unit, which I thought was alright to do, but many rail fans thought 611 could do the trip by herself.
Many, many rail fans at the loop and of course, my son was right in the middle of it all.
Well, just another great weekend with our Family and many Rail fans, God Bless America !!

Great Smoky Mountain RR 12-27-15
Hello Rail-fans,
While traveling through west NC, my son wanted to go to Bryson City, to see the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad depot.
Although we were limited in time, but we did the math and figured about where the train should be as it did an excursion trip from Bryson City to Dillsboro and back.
It was on the return trip as my wife who driving saw the train in the woods across the way on Hwy. 74 east bound from Cherokee, NC.
Here the excursion concept has two cabooses behind the head engines. One was for viewing and riding and the other for a power generator, it reminds me how I will setup my next model RR concept the same way with passenger cars.
Another great day of rail fanning with the family even on a return trip from the holidays.
One of the engineer, call out to Caleb with a smile and called us "Foamers" but he took it in good humor and smiled back.
Also, we hear in 2016 there will be an active steam engine on this line off Hwy. 74, keep watching and we will keep you posted.

#NGM at Cobb Galeria 2015
North Georgia Modurail at Cobb Galleria Train Show 2015
Another great weekend at the Cobb Galleria Train show 2015 as the hall was full with trains and things with out train club there also. We had 42 X 26 layout and was one the hits of the weekend. As the club setup on Friday night, operated and run trains on Saturday 21st and operated, run and layout tear down Sunday 22nd.
Steam engines lead the way as favorites and they was a call for long trains too. We had steam excursions and large diesel freight. Here two Southern steams, 4501 and 722 head east and west bound respectively.
A time will with friends (club members)
And with family
And don't forget the snacks.
Just another great model train club event good times and good trains.
